Day 14: The "Wild" coast


Parts of the south coast of Mauritius are not protected by the coral reef and the most southern point of the island is known as the "Gri-Gri".


As you can see, the surroundings offer a real contrast with the calmness of the lagoon you can find on other parts of the island. It could almost look like the Irish West coast, except it's 30 degrees (and that would NEVER happen in Ireland)...







Obviously, swimming there is extremely dangerous and not recommended at all. It's a very nice visit though and it makes you realise that Mauritius is not just a long sandy beach full of palm trees!
